A Walk to Remember - Definate See

This is definately now one of my favorite movies. I had heard it was a good movie but never got around to watching it until a month ago or so. It is a chick-flic but I still like it.

The movie is about a guy who hangs out with the cool crowd and he has to act all big and bad around his friends. He evantually gets in trouble and must tutor kids and act in the school play as a result. In doing so he ends up spending a lot of time with a nerdy girl of whom he has always made fun. Of coarse he gets his act together and changes (wait, the popular guy changes instead of bringing the popular girl down? Is this a moral movie?!?!).

I liked this movie a lot. It has good morals and a Christian theme throughout the movie. It even plays Christian music (Jars of Clay, Switchfoot, etc.). It does have a tragic ending. It is one of a few movies that I have actually walked away feeling good that I watched. I would classify it as a romance/drama (I can't remember if it was a comedy or not).

The Village - highly recommended

I saw the movie The Village today and I was very surprised. I actually liked it a lot. It isn't what I expected at all. I knew it was a type of suspense movie so I didn't think I'd like it. Also, it was produced by the same author of Signs which I didn't really like either.

The movie takes place in a village of people back in a Little House on the Prairie era or so. There are beasts called "those we do not talk about" of whom these people are terrified. They spend their whole life in their compound in safety of these beasts as long as they offer sacrifices to them, stay out of the woods outside their compound, and do not show "the bad color."

I jumped a few times but I also scare easy (probably why I do not like suspense movies). It has a very cool and unexpected ending. It is weird like Signs but this time in a good way. Also, it is very clean and supports good morals (based on the Christian philosophy of the time). It is a suspense/comedy/romance I guess.
